# Service Provider

A Service Provider - SP - is provider of Web Services, such as applications, storage, or other capabilities. It uses an [Identity Provider](/glossary/i/identity_provider) for [authentication](/glossary/a/authentication) and [authorization](/glossary/a/authorization).
