# SNR Margin

The SNR margin is the difference between the current [Signal to Noise Ratio](/glossary/s/snr) and minimal SNR required to sync at a specific transfer speed.

Higher SNR margin means a better signal, with less background noise, which in turn means a more stable the connection.
